A little arrangement

June 8, 2011 by Kim Woodward

Well, I was inspired by all the succulent arrangements in the blogosphere. So I decided that I need my own.

So, I picked some plants up at a local garden store and put them together in this old wood container I picked up at a junk store.

It’s really quite cute, right?

What do you think?

    Kim,
I’d love to hear an update in a while about how your arrangement grows. I planted a couple chicks and hens in a little planter and one of them died and the other grew up like a tree with a dead trunk (because I think they usually like to spread on the ground)… the planter is looking really sad and I don’t have the energy to replace the plants all the time so I sort of let it go. I’d love to hear how yours survives as they grow.
    Thanks!

I love succulents. I have one of the spiky looking green ones that is bumpy…and I found it at IKEA. I also like the hen and chicks a lot.

Totally agree with the above poster. The word succulents freaks me out. Suuu-cuuu-leeeents. Ick.

    But it looks super cute!

beautiful! i am in love with succulents right now (and really, only bc i’ve seen really pretty ones like yours or those on pinterest) i’ve been too intimidated by them to try them myself, but i suppose they can’t be hard to maintain!

LOVE the arrangement! Some of those luscious succulents look familiar. 😉 Me thinks Kim and Jen’s Excellent Adventure strikes again. 😉

I love the container you chose! It looks really great! I’ve also been thinking about jumping on the succulent bandwagon. I have a pot set aside for when I get around to picking up some plants and soil.

Super cute! I’ve been noticing the succulents popping up everywhere, too. I’m really starting to get intrigued. Let me know if they’re easy to keep alive because I have a knack for killing everything. every.thing.

I love a succulent. I hate the word succulent though. It reminds me of luscious which I also hate. Anyway, your choice in container is also charming. But then again, everything you do is pretty much charming.

I’ve been wanting a succulent garden, too! It would be gratifying to have a living plant that I’m not likely to kill. 🙂 Looks great!
