A weekend in sunny Arizona

April 11, 2011 by Kim Woodward

It’s mildly ironic that we went to Phoenix for sunshine and it ended up being cool and even a little rainy. (In Phoenix?) No matter, we still had a lovely extended weekend with my parents.

Highlights – pickleball…

A hike at the Arboretum…

a blues festival…

the Science Center…

eating on the patio…

Thanks to Arizona Lainey and Papa Bear for a really nice long weekend.

Are you all jealous?

Dude, you lucked out in the parents home dept. Not sure if I mentioned it, but my dad’s backyard view is CORNFIELDS. Not quite as awesome as those purple mountain majesties. Your parents look like such nice peeps though…I should really fly out there to find out. I’m an ace pickleballer. (Lies, I have no idea what it is).

I live in Phoenix and I made it a point to leave this weekend. LOL While I’m upset that I missed the rain, I got to play in the snow and that somehow made things better.

I love visiting Phoenix!! My bff lives out there. I was supposed to go out there Jan ’10 and the flight was canceled because of the rain and weather in Arizona. Usually it’s because of snow in KS but that time it was the AZ weather!

Looks like great fun! And PICKLEBALL! I remember playing it in high school gym, but no one I’ve talked to has ever heard of it. I was beginning to think it was all in my imagination (or maybe I just had a very creative gym teacher). I will now happily reference this post to anyone who doubts me!

Yup, I’m jealous! Wish the weather would’ve been a little warmer for you, though. But it still looks like a lovely weekend, and completely void of paint brushes, so that’s gotta be worth something, right??

It looks like you had a great time. Yes, I am jealous, it looks beautiful there!
By the way, the fabric you asked about for my Silhouette cover – I found it at my local fabric store. It’s a Moda fabric – Fandango by Kate Spain. I like it so much I think I’m going to go back for more!
