Holiday home tour: Kitchen

>> Thursday, December 17, 2009

Now, the holiday home tour takes a turn into the kitchen. I decided to get creative and make a kitchen tree this year. I used a stainless pot as the base and added lights, bubble lights (which I discovered in a box), cookie cutters, wooden spoons, a rolling pin and an oven mitt as the topper.

I lined the small cookie cutters with scrapbook paper to make them stick out. (A quick project with the help of hot glue.)

All-in-all, pretty cute for $0.

A few other kitchen views.

Thanks for joining us on our home tour. Next up - outdoors.

3 Christmas tree's & Counting! How do you have so many trees??? I love the kitchen tree... I might be tempted to leave it up year around its so cute!

Love your oven mitt tree topper. My mom used to have a christmas tree and she'd hang cookie cutters on it. You just brought a flood of old memories back! Your kitchen looks so festive and warm (mine looks like it does year round - unfestive and cold).

I like the last picture! Can you explain more of what's going on there? Did you make it? It looks like maybe a way to display Christmas cards? I've been looking for an idea for that.

Your tree makes me smile. I mean, how could an oven mit atop an evergreen NOT make you smile? Seriously.

Please comment on Kim and Ryan's blog! Every time you do, an angel gets it's wings.

Okay, maybe not. But, Kim usually gets a big smile on her face and says, "They like me, they really like me."
